When we designed our banana ripening system we addressed the fundamentals of design first - efficiency of airflow, ease of loading/unloading, good lighting, safe and easy maintenance access. Our design solution has produced a banana ripening system which is as clean and attractive in its appearance as it is practical and efficient in its operation.

Ripening Room Features:

Easy Loading and Unloading

Available in one, two or three tier bays, our banana ripening rooms are specifically designed to make loading and unloading simple and efficient. There are no air bags to remove and no moveable ceilings so loading times are reduced. For three tier systems rails at the base of the rack system guide forklift trucks into the ripening rooms ensuring safe loading of product at high level with no risk of damage to fork lift, product or the room itself.

Cost effective Maintenance

Our unique air distribution system is situated in a plenum above the room and is accessed through a service hatch. This allows maintenance to be carried out safely and with the minimum of disruption to the banana ripening process - even while the room is fully loaded. It also means that there are no moveable ceilings or air bags requiring costly maintenance. Air sealing around loaded pallets is achieved by the use of perimeter seals which automatically retract when the airflow is switched off. This feature minimises risk of damage to seals whilst fruit ripening rooms are being loaded/unloaded.

Ripening Room Lighting

Good lighting is essential when inspecting the ripeness of fruit so we install colour corrected fittings in all areas of the bay. This gives the consistency required to properly judge the current state of the fruit.

Modular Approach

Being of modular construction, we are able to install fruit ripening rooms within existing buildings or design them into a new development. The nature of our design means that we are able to fulfil the exact needs of individual clients and their building characteristics.

Part Loading

Due to our unique design ripeners are able to easily isolate multiple pallet spaces should this be required. This feature ensures that the air is circulated through the pallets as opposed to short circuiting.
