Pressurised Fruit Ripening Rooms

When we designed our pressurised fruit ripening rooms we addressed the fundamentals of design first, efficiency of air flow, ease of loading and unloading plus good lighting and safe easy maintenance access. Our design solution has produced a system which is as clean and attractive in it's appearance as is practical and efficient in operation.

Our pressurised fruit ripening rooms are available in one, two and three tier bays. The rooms are specifically designed to make loading and unloading simple and efficient. There are no air bags to remove and no moveable ceilings so loading times are reduced. For the three tier systems rails at the base of the rack system guide forklift trucks into the rooms ensuring safe loading of the product at high level with no risk of damage to the fork lift, product or the pressurised ripening room itself.

Our unique air distribution system is situated in a plenum above the pressurised ripening rooms and is accessed through a service hatch. This allows maintenance to be carried out safely and with the maximum of disruption, even when the room is fully loaded. It also means that there are no moveable ceilings or air bags requiring costly maintenance. Air sealing around loaded pallets is achieved by the use of parameter seals which automatically retract when the airflow is switched off. This feature minimises risk of damage to seals whilst rooms are being loaded or unloaded.

Good lighting is very important in the pressurised ripening rooms, it is essential when inspecting the ripeness of the fruit so we install colour corrected fittings in all areas of the bay. This gives the consistency required to properly judge the current state of the fruit.
