Stepping Hill Hospital Modular Cardiology and Surgical Unit
Supply and installation of modular Cardiology and Surgical Unit at Stepping Hill Hospital for Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.
In the largest foundation ProCure 21 contract let to date, MTX are working for Laing O’ Rourke to construct a new Cardiology and Surgical unit at Stepping Hill Hospital.
The project will centralise theatre services across the site with two new Ultra Clean Theatres and a thirty two bed short stay ward.
The initial conception of the scheme was on the 15th January 2008 with the scheduled completion expected just twelve months after, with operations commencing February 2009.
MTX are of the opinion that construction periods utilising this type of building system are upto 50% quicker than a comparative traditional build scheme.
MTX have currently completed all ground works and have just completed the lifting of the 110 pre-fabricated modules. The internal fit out of the three storey building will now commence.
The completed facility will meet all necessary building regulations, HBN’S and HTM’S concluding in an excellent example of off site modular construction. When the building is completed operatives and patients will be unaware of the use of modular construction in both external appearance and perceived feel.
