In May 2006, MTX completed the installation of a triple operating theatre suite and new state of the art IVF Facility.

MTX were employed as subcontractor by Brighouse Construction on this design and build contract.  The project team included renowned names in healthcare construction including Roger Smith (Project Manager), Jonathan Hart (Architect) and Roger Bullock (Consulting Engineer).

The new facilities were provided for this new private hospital which will offer diagnostic, therapeutic, interventional and endoscopic services throughout the Manchester area.

The building was a water tight shell ready to receive a turnkey package including all mechanical and electrical services and modular building works.

Within the scheme are three state of the art operating theatre suites, the main suite incorporating digital imaging systems to allow the surgeons to transfer live images to various areas within the building.  MTX worked with Linvatec Conmed to incorporate this system into the project.

In addition to the theatre suites, a clean room facility was installed.  At point of installation, this facility was only the second facility of its type to comply with new requirements and standards, achieving a Class B criteria.

The first operations were performed in early June 2006 and the users and design team are delighted with the final product, which successfully met a tight schedule and budget.
