After a competitive tender issued to approximately 7 different contractors, MTX prevailed as the successful bidder instructed to deliver a 635m² Accident and Emergency extension at Stoke Mandeville Hospital for Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

Whilst MTX have not been instructed to complete the ground works aspect, we have worked closely with the Client’s appointed engineers BDP on progressing the foundation design.

In addition to this, there is a large amount of internal refurbishment works taking place within the hospital. Again MTX have worked closely with BDP to ensure that all shared services are designed in a suitable and successful manner.

The project brings with it great logistical difficulties due to it being situated adjacent to the current Accident and Emergency entrance, however again through close liaison with the Client and their entire design team, all aspects have been considered with meticulous planning having taken place to ensure disruption is kept to an absolute minimum. The building is due for delivery towards the end of November, with a completion date of mid February 2013.
