The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust appointed MTX in June 2013 to deliver a new A&E Majors and Paediatric Unit within a two storey building.

The building is to be sited adjacent to the existing A&E Department at New Cross Hospital using prefabricated modular construction, constructed to the highest standard with minimum site works.

The facility consists of a nine majors bays with associated accommodation at ground floor with a school and play room together with toilets and office accommodation at first floor level. There will be a link to the existing A&E at ground floor and a link to the children’s wards at first floor. An external escape staircase will be provided to the building to provide a secondary means of escape for personnel within the first floor area.

The project is scheduled for delivery on mid-September 2013 with completion targeted for 1st November 2013.
