The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust appointed MTX in June 2013 to deliver a new A&E Majors and Paediatric Unit within a two storey building. The building is sited adjacent to the existing A&E Department at New Cross Hospital using prefabricated modular construction, constructed to the highest standard with minimum site works.

The facility consists of a nine majors bays with associated accommodation at ground floor with a school and play room together with toilets and office accommodation at first floor level. There are linkway corridors to the existing A&E at ground floor and another to the children’s wards at first floor. An external escape staircase was provided to the building, providing a secondary means of escape for personnel within the first floor area.

Another successful project completed within our targeted construction programme. The new build was handed over on Friday 1st November 2013, after only seven weeks on site following our modular build delivery mid-September 2013. Feedback from the Trust has been extremely positive.
